Yellowstone Gateway Museum is where you can explore their extensive collection of fascinating artifacts and exhibits that feature Park County, Yellowstone Park, Railroad, Pioneer, and Old West History!
Also on display at the Yellowstone Gateway Museum are many items of Park County's natural history, as well as prehistory and of course geology. Kids can see the tools of Park County's trades, from Coal Mining to Gold Mining, as well as Agriculture, Firemen, Peace Officers, Railroading, and so much more!
In fact, for over 11,000 years, the area's towering mountain ranges and lush river valleys filled with beautiful wildlife have drawn residents and visitors. After all, the incredible wonders of Yellowstone National Park are nearby! (Make sure you visit there too!)
Also at the Yellowstone Gateway Museum are interactive areas designed just for kids, which are listed for each room. They'll find innovative History Quest “links” that will connect them to related stories and artifacts, providing children a fun treasure hunt!
Just ask for the worksheet at the front desk! It's great for curious minds over 11 years to fill out as they explore the museum. (They can even earn a cool sticker if they complete!)
Follow the Yellowstone Trail Arrow Signs off Park Street via 5th or B streets to the museum. They offer free parking.
