The Salem Witch Trials are such an important part of American history - both good and bad. Over 13 months, hysteria swept through not only Salem, but 34 towns and villages in Essex County!
The Witch History Museum is a fascinating museum that tells the stories of the people involved in the trails. The family can hear all the stories of 1692 as you walk through the forest, visit Old Salem Village, enjoy historically accurate live presentations and view 15 life size scenes that depict real stories from the trials!
Across the trails, hundreds of people (and even dogs!) were accused - and these all filled the jails as they awaited trial. The stories (some quite graphic!) of the hangings and punishments won't be suitable for young kids, but the older ones will find a new and fun way of learning in the exhibits and artifacts.
Why read about history in a book when you can experience it right in the town that it happened...and see and hear the stories in person.
The Witch History Museum will take you back in time to 1692 - are you ready for this historic adventure that didn't have a happy ending for a lot of people in Salem!
