About True West Campground

A TRUE camping experience with True West! this RV Park and Horse Camp is right in the heart of Big South Fork in the beautiful Tennessee. Otherwise known as the trail riding capital of the South!

The camp is within reach of 10 park trails, as well as over 200 miles of space for you to ride in! Even guided trail rides can be arranged.

True West itself has 33 easy access RV sites, and camping sites, with water and electric. There are also 67 bedded stalls available, with saddle racks and bridle hook, so even your horses will have lovely and relaxing time!

They have lovely shower houses, as well as 2 large horse wash areas, and a round corral. Grab those fishing rods because they also have 2 well stocked fishing ponds! 

True West also have monthly special events so if you're around for those, make sure they go in your diary! 

If you don't have a camper - don't worry! There are other lodgings just for you, with cabins that sleep up to 6, or suites that sleep up to 9. Great for those big families! 

Even if you're not after a horse campground, there are still lots of activities that can entertain you at True West! The Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is one of the most popular places for families to visit in the entire state!

With fishing, hiking, white water rafting, mountain biking and kayaking, why wouldn't you visit! There are also fun ATV trails nearby!

Outdoor adventure, activities, and an experience just as lovely for your horses as it will be for you - a great horse-tastic family adventure!

For those that bring horses, they have a farrier and a vet on call.

What is there to do?

In the area is hiking, biking, horseback riding, white river rafting, canoeing, ATVing, fishing, geo cacheing, letter boxing, and campground activities!

I’m Hungry! Can I get food at True West Campground?

Camping works up an appetite! They do catered meals during holiday weekends. and there are restaurants nearby

Check the special events before you book if you have flexible dates - you might want to book around what's on!

How are the facilities at the attraction?

True West has 33 easy access RV sites, and 8 with sewer hook ups. There are a few great spots for tents.


They also have firewood for sale, RV dump station, and everything you could want for the horses - from stalls to wash station.
