Kids, are you ready to go back to a time where treasure hunting was rife and excitement spread across our oceans!?
At the Treasures Of The Sea Exhibit in Delaware, you can re-live that excitement of treasure hunting that once filled the waters of the Atlantic. Here, you can step back in time to the era of exploration when Spain ruled the seas and the treasures of the New World were flowing into the coffers of King Philip IV.
Pretty amazing!
The exhibit itself is an amazing collection of beautiful Spanish treasures from a real life 17th century shipwreck - the Nuestra Senora de Atocha! Amazing!
This ship met it's fate back in 1622 during a hurricane off the Florida coast. Mel Fisher, a famed treasure hunter, searched for years to recover the shipwreck, and now YOU can experience the finds!
The treasure from the ship is estimated to be worth about $4 million, so just imagine what was found! When you visit Treasures Of The Earth Exhibit, the whole family gets to enjoy a 15 minute video about the ship itself, and then actually see and touch artifacts from the wreck.
Are you ready to see 17th century history right in front of your very eyes? An amazing experience for kids who just might be inspired to learn more!
