The Toledo Police Museum is a fascinating educational stop for kids to not only learn all about the police force and how they work, but it will also help instil the beginning of respect for the authorities in our kids. We like that, don't we parents!
The Toledo Police Museum is filled with fun, interactive elements that kids can get up close to, enjoy, learn from, and even touch! Don't miss the Fingerprint Comparator from the 80s - how times have changed!
The Toledo Police Museum have genuinely designed the whole museum to be accessible and appealing to kids so you know they will have a great time!
Kids can get locked up in a jail cell (don't worry kids, you can leave whenever you like!), and even get their mug shot taken by and original camera! Kids can take a peek inside a replica 1948 police wagon, and evening look at the timeline that highlights the complete history of the department, right from it's humble beginnings to the present day.
Take a trip back in time, to the days when officers "walked the beat" in every kind of weather, and you can even hitch a ride to a robbery that is in progress! How amazing does that sound!
If you want to add even more to your day at the museum, a bike trail, playgrounds, 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, outdoor ice rink, picnic areas plus jogging and nature trails can also be found in Ottawa Park, where the museum is based.
So let's spend a day with the police - in a good way!
