It's a day out celebrating and learning about Mother Nature at the aptly named Nature Museum at Grafton, where you can explore the plants, animals and geology of the region!
The Nature Museum is a dynamic and educational place to visit with hands-on exhibits that encourage you to open the door to Vermont's natural beauty, as well as dioramas, and mounted specimens that engage learners of all ages to really see the flora and fauna that makes up New England.
Kids can crawl through an underground bear den (don't worry kids, you won't see any real bears in there!), and try their hand at digging for fossils.
You can discover all about bees, and bats, and even catamounts, and kids always love to learn all about how animals adapt by dressing up as their favorite creature!
The adventure continues outdoors at the Nature Museum at Grafton, where you can wander in the wildlife garden and catch a glimpse of those colorful butterflies passing by, and try and spot those resident honeybees collecting nectar.
Spend time hiking through the oak, beech and maple forest in the Village Park right behind the museum, with three trails that offer easy to moderate hiking.
With several picnic areas, why not make a full day of it and really embrace and appreciate Vermont's natural wonders?
Mother Nature really has created some amazing things, so why not celebrate them on your next family day out in New England?
