There are certain names that go down in history as infamous, and Al Capone certainly is one of them! For those older kids that have curious minds, and love learning about history, the Gangster Museum of America might be for them!
The Gangster Museum of America is a fascinating an unusual family day out in Arkansas. It showcases three of the "greatest" gangsters of our time: Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, and Owen Vincent Madden.
Each gangster has it's own dedicated gallery, and tells the story of how these men went down in history as some of the biggest names in gangs we have ever known. Photographs, news clippings and artifacts all piece together the lives of these men, and it really is living history as you experience their story.
There are some pretty incredible artifacts, including Al Capone's original 1928 Cadillac! How impressive is that!
The Gangster Museum of America is filled with audio-visual experience, as well as other exhibits that cover topics such as outlaws, and casinos.
Did you know that hot Springs operated the largest illegal gambling racket in the entire country from 1927 to 1967? How amazing is that - all that history right under your feet. People would come from all over the world to experience the hot thermal baths, and then look great on their nights out in the 103 establishments that appeared on the one street. That's a LOT of gambling!
Can you imagine what the town would have been like?
A fascinating look into a piece of America's history at this Hot Springs museum - you talkin' to me?
