Plantation No. 4 was once the northwestern most village within the British colonies. Pretty impressive! The gran was bought in 1735, and then in 1740 it was settled by a numer of families, who made the journey to the area to settle. These families built homes, and ran businesses, and set up sawmills, doctors, stores and more.
Now, you can see what life was like! The Fort at No. 4 Museum lets you explore a number of sights that will allow the kids imagination to really take them back in time. You can explore the house of Lt. Parker who was one of the first to arrive, and learn all about "lean-to's" which were used by families whose homes were located outside of the stockade area.
You can explore The Great Chamber where town meetings were held, and even see the Watch Tower which give some pretty amazing views.
There are also some fun events at The Fort at No. 4 Museum, including the Harvest Dinner, Blacksmith Weekens and Native Heritage Weekends!
