The Dawes Arboretum is a great place to explore nature and take photographs. Check out the view from the observation deck, on a clear day you can see for miles. There are numerous trails with info guides which are very informative. You can’t miss the massive Beach Tree near the office it’s rumored to be around 200 years old. There is an obvious hidden gem about 1,000 feet long right before your eyes near the pond. Very hard to see when you are walking through it, easy to spot from a plane. Hint: It’s all in the name:-) Check google maps.

Great place to go for a quite walk or drive, they do have a car path which takes you through much of the park. The view from the lookout tower at sunset is great.

Dawes Arboretum is anti-gun and the ugly gunbuster sign on such a beautiful stone entryway was enough to keep me and the family from visiting again. This is probably the only CPZ park in Ohio that is open to the public. I love nature, but not at the cost of informing criminals that we are defenseless there. Criminals, have fun in this paradise as law-abiding visitors are unarmed.

Very pretty even when rainy and then a rainbow shows up just as your man ask you to be his wife six years ago now. They also do good field trips. Excellent maple syrup candy and the maple walk. It also has abuilding that has a shop and nature place bones of animals and a bee hive exhibit.

I love this place! It’s so beautiful my only suggestion is that it could use a small play ground for the little one’s and maybe a few swing sets placed around the paths. Cause who wouldn’t love to be able to swing as they take in it’s beauty! 🙂
