About this activity

Formerly the Midcoast Children's Museum, the playful Coastal Children's Museum is dedicated to providing curious kids ages 2-9 and their families the opportunity to explore, discover and learn through play all about the natural world, the arts and sciences and the diversity of Maine's coast!

That's a lot of learning and fun to be had!

All of the exhibits within the museum ensure that learning occurs through play, so kids can be having a great time, yet developing all their skills and knowledge at the same time!

The Coastal Children's Museum feature 21 interactive exhibits that include magnet boards, tongue drums, an indoor slide and so much more!

Kids can explore the Maine coast marine life with the Touch Tank exhibit, learning all about the marine animals as they actually touch them! They can explore the beautiful fish in the Under The Sea Habitats where fresh water and tropical tanks are home to some pretty amazing species.

Their nurturing instincts can take the lead in the Pet Vet Clinic, the fun make-believe pet hospital where their love of animals can meet science.

Fancy some peace and quiet? Check out the Book Nook where you can just cozy up by the "campfire" and travel to other worlds through the pages.

Creative kids will love crating and painting, performers will love the stage and theater exhibit, and those curious minds will love the science based exhibits.

No matter what you kids are into, what drives them or their learning abilities, Coastal Children's Museum has something for them, so let's go PLAY!
