The Bennington Museum can be found in the heart of Vermont, with art, innovation and history all waiting to be discovered!
One of the highlights of this charming museum is the fact it is home to the largest collection of Grandma Moses paintings in the entire WORLD! (Kids, Grandma Moses was an amazing 20th century folk artists who loved to paint scenes of rural life that embodying a sense of idyllic bygone America)
Also at the Bennington Museum is a Military History gallery, where the family can learn all about the history of the Revolutionary War battle that was named after the town - yes, we're talking about the Battle of Bennington.
This battle was one of the pivotal early battled within the war, and so on display you'll find a strong collection of objects and documents all relating to the battle.
The Gilded Age Vermont exhibit focuses on the industrial boom in the town, from the mid-19th century right through to mid-20th century.
It tells the story of not only the industrial boom, but the economic prosperity that can along with it, and nearby you'll find the Bennington Modernism exhibit, featuring works from the mid-1950s to the mid-1970s, all created by a group of avant-garde artists.
Also worth spending time in is the Early Vermont Gallery, which is great if you love history, as here you can see early life in Vermont from the arrival of the earliest European settlers in 1761 with only the bare necessities, through to the early 1800s when Vermont craftsmen found skills to rival Boston and New York.
