About this activity

There is so much fascinating history when it comes to aviation and space travel - after all, it's a fascinating subject AND something that has completely changed how we live!

The Texas Air & Space Museum is a great place for kids to visit, and to get up close to some amazing aircraft! It's a place where the aviators of the past are remembered, and the aviators of the future are inspired. You never know - your little one in the family could be the next great space explorer or pilot! Imagine that!

The museum has a goal of ensuring the honor the servicemen and women, the aviators and astronauts that have come out of northwest Texas. They also provide kids the experience of seeing and touching the amazing technology of the future!

There are a number of exhibits at the museum, and a LOT of actual aviation models for the kids to really get up close to. Pretty impressive! There are Mustang and Caribou aircraft, as well as the very fancy named "Pterodactyl Ascender".  There is also an extensive range of models of some pretty incredible pieces of work.

The exhibits themselves are fascinating too, and a great way for kids to learn about where these amazing aircraft would have been used - particularly in the war. There are photo collages highlighting various war aircraft, including the Vietnam War, Cold War, and the two World Wars.

The museum also tell the stories of the people behind the aircraft, and the services they gave to their own country. It really bring a beautiful human touch to the faces behind the stories.

The Texas Air & Space Museum is the place to be for an amazing historical journey - copy that - over and out!
