The Sunken Gardens are over 100 years old, making it the oldest living museum in St. Petersburg. It is a beautiful 4 acres filled with over 50,000 tropical plants, representing over 500 species.
It's a botanical, and biological, feast that are home to some of the oldest tropical plants in the region!
The Sunken Gardens are filled with beautiful nature to just spend time in as a family. You will stroll through the meandering paths, make your way past lush exotic plants from all around the world, and even marvel at the cascading waterfalls.
If you want to learn more about the gardens and the plants, they offer garden tours, as well as horticultural programs and special events. There are a lot of workshops geared towards the children too.
Kids love gardens to play in...and there's no reason they can't play in these! You can let them loose and let them immerse themselves in the colors and smells, and perhaps encourage them to tell you what they find!
They might spot a flamingo or another exotic bird!
Plant lovers will be in your element with orchids, royal palms, bougainvillea, and caladiums...just to name a few. There is even a Japanese Garden and some cacti -the perfect balance!
