About this activity

Love history? Great - because the USA certainly has a fascinating one! Part of that history can be explored in the Stuntsman County Memorial Museum, which honors those famous and very important pioneer days - are you ready to explore too?

The museum is actually located in the Lutz Mansion, which was built all the way back in 1907. It was built by a very talented lumber man, so each room has it's own amazing theme to it.

You can explore the parlor, or the music room, or perhaps the library then the military room. Each room features a number of artifacts that will let you understand the history of the area better. There are hand-built models of actual Jamestown buildings, to instruments, gun, and lots of fascinating artifacts.

It's like you are actually walking through the history books!

As you walk around, make sure you look out for the stained glass - it's pretty special! The Stuntsman County Memorial Museum also has a post office, railroad room and a rectory room too.

It's amazing how much history has happened right under your feet, and at this Jamestown museum, you can learn about it on the very place it happened! Now THAT is a history lesson!

Each room has it's own history and stories, so make sure you spend time reading and hearing about it.

Did you know that the basement area is the location of the citiies first post office counter, and the mail wagon in the carriage house actually has a coal stove?

If you're learning already, image what you'll learn at the Stuntsman County Memorial Museum itself!
