What is there to do?

The Stark Museum of Art offers an impressive selection of American Western art and artifacts on permanent display. In fact, it houses one of the finest collections in the country.

So if you have art loving kids, or creative kids that want to be inspired, a trip to the Stark Museum of Art might want to go on your list!

The collections within this Texas art museum focus on the dramatic people, stunning land and diverse wildlife of the American West. There is also a significant collection of American Indian art as well, so the cultural education for kids can be vast.

It's within these collections that you can see speciality items including rare books and manuscripts, plus Decorative and American Indian Arts.

The Stark Museum of Art also hosts changing exhibitions that focus on particular artists, so you can always go back another time and see something new!

Visiting an art museum is a wonderful way to introduce kids to visual arts, culture and history. Repeat visits also build a child's visual literacy, and familiarity with master works. For younger kids, why not focus on just one or two galleries. Why not encourage older kids to ask questions and discuss the art.

You can even encourage the kids to create their own masterpieces when they get home!

An inspiring, educational and creative day out for the family. You never know kids, you might just be inspired to create something amazing!
