The Las Vegas valley has an amazing history, from the tribes that lived on these lands thousands of years ago, to the nature that has formed and changed over the years. Springs Preserve is an incredible place for kids to come and really learn through play, as well as enjoy live animal shows, beautiful botanical gardens and trails to play and hike along!
The Origen Museum at Springs Preserve is definitely the focal point for the history. It features more than 75 permanent exhibitions, as well as a traveling exhibit space and an indoor theater - how cool is that!?
The kids can wander and explore the galleries which all connect. They can experience historical recreations, and the very cool live animal exhibits! They can also learn about the history of the area: the cultures and the people. They can immerse themselves in the history of the Native American Settlements, and the Mojave tribes.
If you love seeing those beautifully colored winged creatures out in the garden, the you will love the seasonal Butterfly Habitat. Closed through winter, this fun exhibit lets kids experience the free-flying butterflies, as well as the plants that sustain them.
Want to teach your kids more about sustainability? At the core of the Desert Living Center you will find the NV Energy Foundation Sustainability Gallery. This is a place where kids can really learn about an eco-friendly world through fun interactive exhibits. There is a fun children's play area, and even an entire house full of sustainable decor and appliances - pretty awesome!
Don't forget the Nevada State Museum, a uniqe part of the Springs Preserve experience. Ready to face a woolly mammoth!?
A fascianting learning experience for kids, and lots of fun!
