The South Street Seaport Museum in New York City is home to the nation's largest fleet of privately maintained historic vessels.
The museum preserves and interprets the city's rich maritime history. Works of art and historical artifacts are on display, as well as a maritime reference library, galleries, a working 19th-century print shop, and a collection of historic ships that reflect on the slogan “Where New York Begins.” The museum was established in 1967.

Kids are catered for with the Mini Mates' Programming, field trips and Adventures Aboard the Pioneer Schooner, plus multiple and changing multi media exhibits. Tours and special experiences are also available.
