It's SO much fun to learn about all of the different cultures in the world, and often in a big city you get a chance to experience a different culture first hand - especially when you head to the Seattle Japanese Garden!
This beautiful experience lets you explore 3.5 acres of formal garden, which was designed by world-renowned Japanese garden designer Juki Iida. So you know it's going to be something special!
The Japanese Garden is a great place to just spend some time strolling through the beautiful designs and colors. Kids can look at what makes these gardens so different to the ones they know!
It's not just a place to admire the plants and flowers, but also a place where you can learn about another culture. They offer free public tours (with admission) on weekends, and one of the gardens very informative docents will take you round and fill you in on the history and culture.
Why read in a classroom when you can visit and experience it first hand!
The Japanese Gardens also have fascinating events throughout the year. They have celebrations of Children's Day, as well as garden parties and Moon Viewing Festivals. Certainly worth grabbing the family and seeing how Japanese culture celebrates such occasions.
For those interested in photography or drawing, it's certainly a brilliant place to take your camera or sketch pad and challenge your skills a little more.
A beautiful Japanese Garden oasis in Seattle!
