There are so many things to do with the family in Santa Ana, and if you are feeling a little...WILD...then why not head to Santa Ana Zoo!
Located in Practice Park, this 20 acre zoo focuses on those beautiful creatures found in Central and South America, and has been giving families a great day out since 1952. That's a lot of memories created!
Want to know what's really cool about Santa Ana Zoo? Well, back in 1952 there was a request by it's founder, Joseph Practice, that the zoo can only exist if there are 50 monkeys on the grounds at all times.
And they still stick to this request even now, so when you visit, can you spot the 50 monkeys across the enclosures? They even are home to the smallest monkey in the world - the Pygmy Marmoset (and it's adorable!)
The zoo has over 80 species of animals in total, so there is plenty for the kids to learn from and explore, and it's a place where parents and kids can have a great time!
In addition to these wonderful animals, the zoo also has a fun children's farm where they can enjoy actual hands on fun with those domestic animals, as well as a train ride which always delights, and even a carousel! Enjoy that classic family fun as you ride on carved endangered species so kids can learn about which animals are in danger, and why we should look after them!
With special events such as the winter wonderland across the year, it's no wonder the Santa Ana Zoo is popular with families, so let's go say hi to those animals!
