Sandia Peak has two types of fun - that Sandia Peak Aerial Tramway that can take the family above the amazing deep canyons and stunning terrains of New Mexico. Don't look down it's 2.7 miles drop below you! It's an amazing experience as you watch the beauty of nature moving below you.
At the top (and that's 10,378 feet at the top!) you can see the 11,000 square mile panoramic view of the Cibola National Forest from the observation deck. Wait until sunset to see some of the most amazing colors you will see across the desert!
It's a great area, and a popular area, for hiking. In summer, there are SO many fun activities to do at Sandia Peak, so don't be put off by the snow title...it's an all year round experience!
There are great things for bikers, and wildlife to explore.
But of course, there are those snow sports ready and waiting for you in winter. Skiing and snowboarding is always popular on the terrains here, with a number of runs - from green to black - so there is really something for everyone.
If you're a novice and just want that little extra help before hitting the slopes with the others, Sandia Peak have lessons for all ages, as well as a snow school for toddlers upwards. There is even a Cubby Corner for kids ages 4 to 6 to give them an area where they can have fun and support while they learn the basics.
For those beginners and intermediates who want to just develop skills and confidence, Sandia Park have a terrain park just for that sole purpose!
Skiing, mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, and that famous tramway - Sandia park is ready for you!
