It's all about the fish at the San Joaquin Fish Hatchery in California! In fact, you'll be visiting a major producer or trout and salmon. Pretty amazing! It's at this unique destination that kids can view over a million fish in all stages of development spread across endless pools in a vast walk round enclosure.
Just along the San Joaquin River, and downstream of the Friant dam, you'll not just find the hatchery, but also picnic grounds among the garden of Californian native vegetation.
Kids, keep an eye out for the Rainbow Trout who often jump out of the water. It might make you jump too if you're not ready!
What's also fun at San Joaquin Fish Hatchery is that kids may also feed the fish as they go round.
Make sure you stop and take a photo at the enormous wood-carved rainbow trout, and don't forget to check out the Annual Trout Fest too!
A very FISHY family day out for all!
