Located in the iconic Fisherman's Wharf neighbourhood, the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park takes you back to another time through the sights, sounds, smells and stories of the Pacific Coast maritime history!
This popular and fascinating park features a magnificent fleet of historic ships, as well as a Visitor Center, Maritime Museum, Research Center and an Aquatic Park Historic District!
During your time at this historic attraction, kids can get in on the action if they pick up a free Junior Ranger Program activity booklet at the visitor centre. Suitable for 5 to 12 year olds this fun program is there to help keep them engaged, and the centre itself has some fascinating displays on the area's maritime heritage.
Out by the pier you can view the park's collection of floating historic ships and get some great views of the Golden Gate Bridge too, so take your camera!
Also at the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park are numerous ranger led tours both around the park and on several of the boats, plus activities and events held.
You are surrounded by history, so kids can let their imaginations run wild! What would it have been like to live all those years ago in the city by the Bay?

There is no designated parking area for the park. There is metered street parking (Bring lots of quarters!), and garages and parking lots in the area that charge various prices to park.

On some day, all National Park Service sites that charge an entrance fee will offer free admission to everyone, including the first day of National Park Week and Veterans Day!
