About Rock Haven Climbing
Rock climbing is fun and exciting for kids and adults. Rock Haven offers drop in climbing (day passes), punchcards with 10 visits each, and monthly memberships. Kids must be 3 years old to climb, gym and cardio equipment is for ages 14+. All visitors to the gym must review a safety video and sign a waiver (minors have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian). These can be done online or in the gym.
Rock Haven is a bouldering gym which means that you are climbing without a rope or harness. Thick soft pads protect you when you fall (everyone falls). Plan to wear comfortable clothes to move around in. Our friendly staff can answer questions and give a free orientation if you or your kids are new to the sport.
For kids ages 3-6 we have a large family boulder called the Shipwreck, named for its resemblance to, well, a ship that has wrecked on a beach. There are a couple dozen boulder problems on this boulder for kids to "solve" and reach the top of the wall. The Shipwreck also features a rounded low end for our smallest adventurers, as well as cubbies that the kids can climb into and take a break solo or with a friend. The Shipwreck is also Rock Haven's best photo opp!
The Shipwreck boulder is located directly across from our party room and near our spacious and clean restrooms and locker rooms. Be sure to check out our birthday party options, we have the best parties in town that include climbing games and balloon animals- there is excitement and fun with every party we host!
For adults and kids ages 7 and up there is a second large climbing area including vertical walls with heights averaging 13 feet, and some overhung walls, a cave and arch as well as a topout section that you may climb up on for a fun challenge and views of the gym. Parents must supervise children at all times.

At Rock Haven we have many partnerships with schools and local non profits to bring kids and teens in to climb, all at sliding scale rates. We believe in offering greater access to the sport and encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle through climbing.

Any top tips when visiting?
Get your day passes and shoe rentals, good for the entire day from open through close. You can climb a few hours in the morning, go get lunch nearby, and come back for more climbing in the afternoon or evening. You and your kids will have a blast!

We sell climbing gear and accessories such as chalk, chalk bags, t shirts, sweatshirts, climbing shoes and more.
Teachers corner
Rock climbing is a physical activity and offers a problem solving aspect as well, as kids strive to reach the top of the wall or finish hold. Kids learn resilience through trying new climbs, and there is a wonderful social aspect as kids cheer each other on and support each others efforts. Climbing is the perfect mix of an individual sport that you can do in a group with many positive learning outcomes.

Is Rock Haven Climbing fully accessible?
All of our public spaces are wheelchair accessible for observing climbers and attending events. Our climbing gym is a bouldering gym so we do not have ropes or harnesses. We can offer small size classes for children with special needs, please call us for more information and to determine whether our activities are the right fit.
