Riverbanks Zoo & Garden is home to more than 2,000 animals that represent more than 350 species from around the world - so why even leave South Carolina to have an amazing wildlife experience!
At this popular zoo, you can find an array of wild adventures — from a diving expedition on a Pacific coral reef to a safari through the plains of Africa. You can even enjoy an interactive Outback encounter with a flock of sociable lorikeets!

Kids can watch giraffe, zebra and ostrich roam across a 2 acre African savanna, or see lions in their natural habitat.
They can learn all about how various endangered Asian species are looked after, including those beautiful tigers, or you can explore Down Under and see koalas and kangaroos face to face!
Of course, North America has some pretty amazing creatures too, and so make sure you spend time with the grizzly bears, sea lions and river otters. They even have a spectacular reproduction of San Fransisco's Pier 39 too!
Riverbanks Zoo have recreated part of Africa for the Ndoki Forest animal sanctuary, there kids can learn their stories of survival, as well as explore reptiles and birds, and learn about the connections between farms, man and the natural world!

You certainly won't be going hungry at this zoo! From Dippin Dots, to ice cream, pizza, hot dogs, pretzels, chicken tenders and more, those rumbling tummies won't stay rumbling for long!
Keep an eye out for fun events across the year, like Boo At The Zoo for Halloween!

Ndoki Pizza offer made to order salads and sandwiches
Riverbanks Zoo and Garden is dedicated to creating a high-quality recreational experience for all our visitors.
All exhibits, restrooms, trams, restaurants and gift shops are wheelchair accessible; however, the upper portion of the Woodlands Walk nature trail is not.
Handicapped parking spaces are available in the Zoo’s visitor parking lot and the Garden’s visitor parking lot. Official state handicapped parking permit is required.
Make sure to have a look at the website to see when they are hosting one of their unique events like find the giraffe or mingle with the marsupials.
