Have you ever heard of Pillsbury State Park? You might not have, as it's one of the lesser known and more primitive state parks in the state of New Hampshire, but when you visit you certainly won't forget it!
Pillsbury State Park is a heavily wooded and beautiful piece of nature, with several ponds and wetlands. It has a huge diversity of habitats, which makes it a great place for wildlife to live and thrive. Loons and moose are just some of the creatures that you might spot!
The park is also great for those active families, as it's crossed by a network of mountain biking trails and hiking trails. Get those comfortable shoes out because there's a lot of explore!
If you love history, then there is something for you too! There are long-abandoned cellar holes, which are artistically overgrown, which are actually remnants of the early farm settlements and lumbering industry from the 1700s and 1800s when the area was actually called Cherry Valley, and not Pillsbury State Park!
You better be ready for that outdoor adventure - and yes, it's all year round! If biking is your thing, there are not only biking trails, but mountain biking trails for the more adventurous. You can take to the water on your own boat with the boating ramps, or enjoy some kayaking and canoeing.
Get out and try and find those beautiful moose on the hiking trails, and after wards the kids can have some fun on the playground!
Winter is just as fun to enjoy the park in, from snow mobiles and cross country skiing - there's a host of activities with your family's name on it!
State (park) of the art fun in New Hampshire for the family!
