About this activity

If you love art, then why not spend your next family day out surrounded by it! The Pasadena Museum of California Art showcases the best of art from all across the state, and is there to inspire everyone who visits!

The museum is filled with exhibits that look at the cultural dynamics and influences that are unique to California, so it's not just an art lesson - it's a sociology lesson too!

The Pasadena Museum of California Art is a place for families to look at ways others have been created and express themselves, and perhaps inspire them too.

The exhibits rotate, so you can always see something new each time you go back. Each exhibit covers it's own theme, so you can really gain an understanding of what they are showcasing. It may be a specific local artists, or it may be a genre of art.

And kids -art isn't just painting! It can be sculptures, or drawings, or even photography. Suited for more older kids, they can wander the collections and use them as talking points - what do they like about the art? What intrigues them?

Every time you move onto another exhibit, you will gain a deeper understanding of this great state, so let's celebrate it!

Keep an eye out for the fun events that the PMCA hold across the year, including Family Days where the whole family, no matter what age, can join in the fun art projects, as well as free docent tours around the museum.

So, who is ready to have a California art attack!
