The Pabst Mansion was built in 1892, and was once home to Milwaukee's pioneer brewing family (Captain Frederick Pabst) and five archbishops. Today Pabst Mansion remains an impressive grand Flemish Renaissance Revival-styled house!
In 1975 Pabst Mansion was placed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is now a historic house museum, offering tours to the public.
There are a number of tours which you can choose from, so make sure you check them all out so you can pick the best ones for the family.
The Classic Guided Tour is the most frequent, and will really give you a great understanding of Pabst Mansion.
This docent-led 60-minute tour will take you around all three floors of the Pabst Mansion where you learn all about the home and the family that once lived there.
If you prefer to take your time, the Self-Guided Tour of the Pabst Mansion ensures you can explore at your own pace with a self-guide brochure. If you have questions you'll still find docents on each floor to answer any and all questions you may have!
Then you have the Family Friendly Tours, which are an abbreviated half-hour guided tour designed specifically for families with young children. These run every Saturday at 9:30am.
Family-friendly Tours are perfect for those wanting to engage those little ones in a way they will connect with. Kids can search for animal friends within the art and architecture, or they might want to peek inside a secret cabinet!
They can even use those imaginations as imagine life as a young Elsbeth Pabst growing up in the Mansion!
There is a Sunday Mimosa Tour for those over 21!
A wonderful way to explore the history of Pabst Mansion!
