The popular Natural Wonder Tour takes you through the largest and most stunning of the Ohio Caverns. They have exquisite stalactite and stalagmite formations which are near perfection!
Do you know what the difference between a stalactite and stalagmite is? They formations have been formed over millions of years, and are constantly changing, so if you visit twice - you will be seeing newly changed wonders! (They change very very slowly though so you will have to have a keen eye to find what is new!)
The Historic Tour includes sections of the Caverns once viewed by visitors from 1897 - 1925. They have just re-opened this section, so you can be seeing what tourists 100 years ago experienced! Pretty cool!
There is the Limestone tour which is designed for those guests with limited mobility, with free admission, and for those who are a bit nervous getting underground, you can enjoy the Tree Tour which is a self-guided journey through the acres of beautiful park that the Caverns are surrounded by, and enjoy the various stunning trees - you will be an expert at identifying them by the time you have finished!
Once you are all toured out, or great for those not so keen on the Cavern tours, you can try your hand at mining for gems and fossils. Learn how to pan for these beautiful specimens, and understand how to identify them!
Get ready to see something truly spectacular! And great for the whole family.
