Kids, did you know that the National Museum of the US Air Force is actually the world's largest AND oldest military aviation museum, with over 360 aerospace vehicles and missiles (yes kids, missiles) on display!
Indeed it is, and YOU get to visit on your next family day out!
In fact, the museum is SO big, there are 17 acres of indoor exhibit space to explore, with historic artifacts telling the story of the US Air Force history, and the men and women who served.
The exhibits feature thousands of personal artifacts, photographs and documentary that add to the stories and events that tell the US Air Force timeline, from the early days of military flight, right through to today's conflicts.
You can see dioramas that bring history to life, creating scenes that can instantly draw you into a moment. There are a number of historic uniforms on display dating back as far as 1916, and other personal items such a diaries, letters and medals.
The vast aircraft collection at the National Museum of the US Air Force spans this history, from the Wright brothers to today's most streamlined aircraft, and in fact, a number of popular and historically significant aircraft are in the collection.
Did we mention that there are Virtual Reality simulators too?
