The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is a great place to take the kids if you want to inspire them to be anyone they want! Especially great if you have girls in the family, because the museum honors and celebrates women who have helped shape the American West, as well as women past and present.
Here's a fun fact - the museum is in fact the ONLY museum in the world dedicated to those women of the American West! The women featured have shown extraordinary courage, and that amazing pioneer spirit in all of their trailblazing efforts.
Kids can learn through the interactive galleries which house artifacts part of the permanent collection, as well as a traveling exhibit gallery.
You will certainly be filling your family day out, as the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame has over 5,000 objects which either belonged to, or were created by, the women that feature in the Hall of Fame.
The artifacts also really tell the stories of the women of the West, so kids can begin to really connect with the faces and the names. From the early pioneers to those portrayed in popular culture, it's an extensive collection.
Some of the items you will see in the museum is the actual wedding ring and gun owned by Annie Oakley, as well as the Bohlin saddle of Hollywood Icon Dale Evans.
With 33,000 square feet of inspiration to be had, we hope you have a great time learning about all 220 honorees!
Yee haw for the girls!
