Old Trail Town is one of the most incredible experiences for the family not only in Cody but arguably the whole state.
This walk back through time is a collection of buildings and relics of the Old West Wyoming frontier. In fact, it was a local archaeologist named Bob Edgar who created Old Trail Town by actually disassembling, moving and reassembling 26 authentically historic buildings that were built between 1879 and 1901 to the location that was once the site of Old Cody City.
At Old Trail Town you can walk the boardwalks of these fascinating buildings for a step back in time that will really make you feel like you're in the American Wild West!.
Among the buildings you can see first hand is an old saloon, a livery barn, blacksmith shop, general stores, post office and even schools. (Kids, can you imagine going to school in such a small log cabin!?)
Highlights of Old Trail Town include Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid's "Hole-in-the-Wall" cabin!
In addition to the buildings you can also see over 100 horse drawn vehicles and the original wagon trail.
Don't miss a stop in the Old Trail Town gift shop either on your way out! Three are some great historic and educational items to enjoy there!
