About Mt Rainier Scenic Rail Road

Washington State has some amazing scenery, so why not explore it in style! Head to Mt Ranier Scenic Rail Road, and the whole family can experience a ride on a vintage locomotive, through the mountains, and the forests, and everything in between!

When you travel on the Mr Ranier Scenic Rail Road, it will be like you have just stepped back in time! You can travel through uninhabited forest, listening to that whistle that has been heard for years before you. Think of all the memories created by the locomotive since it first went onto the tracks.

Don't forget to get the camera out when you ride through the glacial fed Upper Nisqually River. It's pretty special!

At the top, you will be able to spend some time in the museum located in Mineral. Here, you can explore a collection of steam logging locomotives, and uncover fascinating stories of the real women and men that pioneered life into these railroad logging camps, as far back as a century ago!

These seasonal trips are so great for kids to not only see the state from another point of view, but also see some incredible scenery and wildlife, and actually learn history about a topic that actually happened in the very spot they are standing!

They are reminded that once railroads linked our nation and its people together in a way that airplanes or automobiles never have.

Weekly excursion and tour trains depart beneath the snow white cap of Mount Rainier from the Depot and Gift Shop in Elbe.

So why not grab those conductor caps, and head out to enjoy Washington State like you've never seen it before! Choo Choo!
