History and aircraft join forces in the Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach - a fascinating experience for the family that lets you get face to face with some real wartime exhibits! It's a great way to learn about the two world wars, and yes, there are actual planes in the museum. The collection at the Military Aviation Museum was formed and created by Gerald and Elaine Yagen, who are long term residents of Virginia Beach.
What started as a small collection and restoration interest soon turns into one of the countries largest collection of historic planes from the last century!
When you arrive, you can choose to enjoy a self-guided tour, or join the daily tours conducted by staff.
The main museum hangars are self-guided throughout the day, and the daily tours take you to the WWI Hangar, Cottbus Hangar, as well as the Fighter Factory.
The museum are also the location for air shows, which are always popular with the family! They also offer summer camps too, so if the kids want to learn even more, they can!
A fascinating trip into the history books at the Military Aviation Museum - come fly with me, let's fly, let's fly away!
