About this activity

Jazz music is SO much fun to listen to! Kids - if you haven't heard any jazz, ask your parents to put some on for you!

It's SO wonderful, that it's worthy of it's own arts center that is dedicated to teaching all about the impact that this wonderful music genre has had on the world.

Love's Jazz and Arts Center is a unique center in Omaha that is dedicated to giving people a place to learn about the rich heritage and cultural of Jazz music. It is an American original art form after all!

The center is there to tell the stories of North Omaha Jazz, as well as Prison Love - a legendary Jazz musician who hails right from Omaha! It will also educate all who visit on the role that Jazz has played in American History.

Did you know that Love's Jazz and Arts Center is also the ONLY facility in the region that gives a comprehensive look at African American Art through exhibits, as well as performance-based arts?

The center offers a fine arts museum and gallery where you can wander through and look at history through the art and photographs. It's a great way to see how the role and perception of Jazz has changed over the years!

The center often have events featuring talks from notable people looking at historical events, and they sometimes even have live bands playing! Great for taking those older kids!

Jazz is such an important part of the American culture - so why not take a look back at where it all began!
