Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live over 100 years ago? Just head to Körner's Folly to find out!
Korner's Folly was the home and passion project of a designer called Jule Gilmer Körner, and was built all the way back in 1880. That's a pretty long time ago, isn't it kids!?
The house was originally built to display his interior design portfolio, but now it's a 22 room museum that lets family's just like yours explore how life used to be!
With original furnishings, carved woodwork, and amazing artwork, it's a great place to explore history!
With the 22 rooms spread across 3 stories, and 7 levels, the best way to see it all is through self-guided tours!
Open to the public all year round, the self-guided tours will take you about an hour, but of course you can go at your own speed. (That's the beauty of self-guided tours!) There are signs all around the home, so you can learn all about the history of each room as you make your way around this historical mansion.
You don't need to reserve for these public tours, just turn up when Körner's Folly is open!
What is great for kids, is just ask to request for a scavenger hunt! It's great for the kids (or even those young at heart adults!) to add some extra interest and fun to the experience.
Körner's Folly also have events across the year, like Oktoberfest, so keep an eye out on what's on so you don't miss out!
A fun and fascinating trip through history in North Carolina.
