It's time to enjoy the magical world of butterflies in Key West at the Key West Butterly and Nature Conservatory!

Here, the family can work through an inviting and magical environment that's filled with hundreds of the most beautiful winged creatures you will find in nature!

It's a relaxing and educational day out for all, as you stroll through this tropical paradise.

Up close, kids can experience an impressive collection of flowering plants, as well as stunning colorful birds, amazing cascading waterfalls and trees that set the stage for the "flowers of the sky". 

Here, you'll find around 50 to 60 butterfly species from around the world. Who knew there were so many!

In addition, the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory are home to over 20 exotic bird species, all under a climate- controlled, glass enclosed habitat.

The Learning Center is the perfect place to spend some time reading up on all over the butterflies you have encountered. Kids can learn about the butterfly anatomy, the lifecycle, the physiology and the migratory path of them. They can see a rare close up view of a number of live caterpillars, and even see some original artwork too!

So get ready for a colorful, beautiful and nature filled family day out in the stunning Key West!

Any top tips?

Different butterflies are active at different times of the day. In the morning you may see many butterflies basking in the sun warming up their muscles to fly, or feeding at the flowers and fruits. As the sun fades later in the day some butterflies, like the Owls, become active while others start to roost.
