Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is often on the "must do" list for anyone visiting D.C - it's pretty impressive when you see it in person!
A great way to learn about this iconic building is via their FREE public tours!
Departing every 10 minutes, the tour highlights the historic events that led up to the establishment of the national cultural center, which also happens to be the nation's living memorial to that amazing man President John F. Kennedy.
The tour also includes a stop at the interactive exhibit on the life of JFK, and also his presidency - what an amazing learning experience for the kids!
Those art lovers in the family can also learn about the works of art given to the Center, such as Robert Berks's bust of President Kennedy, Willy Weber's Apollo X, and the stunning Israeli Lounge.
This fascinating tour ends with a breathtaking 360-degree view of the nation's capital from the building's roof terrace - so make sure you take your camera!
If you want to enjoy some music, look out for the free daily performances that are held on the Millennium Stage in the Grand Foyer. They even have family performances, so keep an eye out!
