About this activity

Are you ready to explore the night sky kids? At Jenks Planetarium, your family day out experience can be an out of this world experience!

Jenks Planetarium can be found on the Jenks High School campus, and allows kids to really understand and immerse themselves in the night sky with the awe-inspiring shows within the dome!

This 50ft dome is home to the ultimate screen where you can see planets up close, fly to distant galaxies, and you can even re-discover our own planet Earth in ways you never thought possible!

Not only is it an amazing educational experience for the kids, but it's also super fun and exhilarating too!

The shows last about 50 minutes, so long enough to really immerse yourselves in the wonders of the universe, but short enough that kids will actually stay tuned in!

The shows vary, so you can keep going back again and again if you just love the experience. One day you might be learning about the animals of the sky. The next minute you might be learning about how the calendar and compasses work. You might even see some pretty stunning images of the USA, including what eclipses look like across the country!

Space....the final frontier....and YOUR destination for your next family day out!

3....2....1...LIFT OFF!

Jenks Planetarium FAQ’s

It's best to grab food in the area before or after your experience because no drink or food is allowed in the theater. The planetarium is around the corner from the Jenks Riverwalk, Elm Street, and Main Street, which all have family-friendly dining locations.

Doors to the Planetarium open approximately 30 minutes prior to listed show time. If you make reservations prior to the show, your name will appear on a list at the door and will be checked off prior to entering. (Tickets will not be issued at the time of purchase and you do not need to show proof of purchase.) General seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis. No food or drink allowed in the Planetarium.

You can book private events for groups, so why not take the students! All of our programs are educational, covering a broad range of scientific topics, and typically include a live star talk by the Planetarium director.

Just speak to staff if you need an accessible place within the theater. There is elevator access to the third floor where the planetarium is located.
