Kahuku is a place of dynamic volcanism, rich Hawaiian traditions and a fascinating history of ranching. This 116,000 acre area of Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park is a site of struggle and restoration for many unique plants and animal species, and it's here you can enjoy guided talks or hikes to learn all about it.
If you love adventure, there are plenty of hiking opportunities for those active families visiting Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. There are over 150 miles of trails within the park, and exploration on foot through this wilderness is a fascinating and exciting experience.
The trails range in difficulty from easy to challenging, so no matter what your experience level is, there will be something to take your fancy!
