Leavenworth is such a charming town, so it's worth the trip to an equally as charming museum to learn all about it's history!
The Greater Leavenworth Museum is all about telling the story of this unique, Bavaria-style town and celebrating the diverse heritage of not only the area but also the Upper Valley.
The exhibits document the history of Leavenworth from the Wenatchi First Peoples, including their impact, culture and traditions, right through to present day.
Located above the Nutcracker Museum (another great museum to explore in Leavenworth!), this local museum is small but dedicated, and offers up some really insightful historical displays.
We know you love history (otherwise you wouldn't be at a museum!) so you will love the guided walking tours the museum offer too. Along these strolls you can hear the story of the city’s transition from railroad and mill town to Bavarian village - it's a pretty fascinating story at that! These are an extra small charge on the admission, but it's well worth it!
These tours operate the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, and offer a great way to see the sights of the history you've just learned!
So why not make a stop at this family friendly museum dedicated to such an incredible Washington town - they'll be happy to welcome you!
