When you tour the Gettysburg Heritage Center Museum, you gain an extraordinarily unique perspective on the infamous Battle of Gettysburg - one from the soldiers point of view from the battlefield, and one from the civilians who lived in the town during the conflict.
Explore history through a number of exhibits, which show the reality of war, and tell the stories of those people who called Gettysburg home.
Your historic journey takes place via a two-part self guided tour, offering those unique perspectives. There's an orientation animated movie which helps set up the scene with an in-depth look at the three day battle, before you can go on to discover what life was like for the civilians in the town, before, during and after those three days.
Can you just imagine what it would have been like to actually endure the conflict as a civilian, hiding in your basement?
Also in the museum there are historic artifacts, 3D video and photography, historical documents and interactive displays
