For 100 years, the Fort Smith Museum of History has been the "keeper and teller" of Fort Smith's rich and colorful history, and today you can visit to be part of the story!
Established back in 1910, the Fort Smith Museum of History features exhibits that illustrate the contributions the local citizens made to the cultural, political, and economic development in the area.
They really will take you back in time through the history book!
Kids can enjoy a treat in the old fashioned soda fountains, and even step foot into a pharmacy dating back to the 1920s to 1940s.
Also at the museum is a replica of a 19th century woodworking shop, featuring perhaps the largest collection of antique woodworking tools in the entire country (pretty impressive!), with some of the tools dating back to colonials times!
There are even some real life vintage automobiles too, which are always fun to look at in person. Kids will really feel like they are living in another time!
With such a rich history in Fort Smith, it's no wonder a museum was created featuring exhibits on JUST that!
