Did you know that Vermont had a planetarium? Well, it does! There is only one, AND it happens to be the Faribanks Museum and Planetarium! This educational, and exciting museum is New England's premiere museum of natural history has over 175,000 artifacts and objects that cover a whole RANGE of topics - from history, world cultures, to natural science.
It really is so much more than a museum of natural history. It is the best place for the whole family to go and see all sorts of different wonders form all over the world.
The Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium has a number of changing exhibits, so there will always be something new to come back to (although with 175,000 objects to get around you might find that anyway!), as well as long-term exhibits so you can keep going back to your favorite.
The topics cover art, culture, and technology all relating to the traditions, history and landscape of that amazing Great Northern Forest.
For those little naturalists in the family, The Naturalists Corner is where you can take all those questions you have about the wetlands, forests and fields right under your feet! Bet you didn't know you were standing on such an incredible ecosystem!
And of course, the planetarium! The Lyma Spitzer Jr. Planetarium is the ONLY public planetarium in the entire state, so why not explore the stars and sky that cover the planet you just learn about! There are astronomy experts that can guide you through the cosmos (and of course back again - don't worry!)
A historic, educational and great day option for the whole family in Vermont!
