Dublin Heritage Park and Museums is 10 incredible acres filled with history and nature for the kids to explore and play in.
It's a great way for kids to really step back in time and explore what Dublin was like over 100 years ago!
There are two museums on the site - the 1856 Murray School house and the historic house of Kolb House.
Kids - as you walk around this school house, have a look at how different it is to what you are used to today! What started as just a one-room schoolhouse, more rooms were slowly added, and even moved locations a few times!
The schoolhouse is now a museum, and follows the journey of three Dublin teenage settlers who arrived from Ireland to California in 1836, built some homes in Dublin before building this very schoolhouse!
It's a fascinating look at the struggles that they would have had, and a great eye opening experience for kids!
Also at Dublin Heritage Park and Museums is the Kolb House, which lets you experience this century old house of George Kolb who came from Dublin in 1880. The 1911 bungalow still has original period-style rooms and personal items which can tell the story of this incredible and inspiring family.
The grounds also have a historic cemetery and church. Over the ten acres there are also lovely picnic areas so you can really make a day of it!
Dublin Heritage Park and Museums is a great way for kids to see how kids of yesteryear lived! (Remind them that there were no computers back in 1836 - whatever would they do to entertain themselves!)
