The Delta Blues Museum is where everyone who visits can find meaning and value in the history of that amazing form of music knows as the "blues". It's iconic to the Southern states of America, and it's such an important part of the cultural history.
The Delta Blues Museum has a range of exhibits that can tell the story of the history of the blues. There are amazing photography exhibits which cast a light on the people behind the blues. From exhibits on some key musicians that we were blessed to have on the planet, to celebrations of milestones - for example Robert Johnson's 100th birth anniversary.
There are musical exhibits such as the Ike Turner and Rocket 88 exhibit, and looks at the influence that certain people have had on the changes in blues music. It's a fascinating experience!
Across the year the Delta Blues Museum hold events - from film festivals to musical performances - so make sure you keep an eye out on what these are and when so you can put them in your diaries!
The museum also have some pretty awesome artifacts that you can check out, from the actual guitars used by artists like John Lee Hooker and BB King, as well as original signed from stores frequented by artists like Robert Johnson!
There are even pianos, shoes, and harmonicas once owned and played by some key musical players.
