Cody is a fascinating Wyoming town, and a visit to The Cody Heritage Museum is a great way for people to delve deepers into this amazing historic town.
The museum is dedicated to sharing the fascinating stories of local history, people and events from the founders of the town to the agricultural industry and groundbreaking railway industry and beyond!
Located on the ground floor in the historic DeMaris House in downtown Cody, the exhibits focus on a number a key elements to Cody's history. You can learn all about how the town was founded (and by which leegendary Old West figure!), and learn what businesses and people lived in the early days of the settling.
You can explore the ranching and farming history, and why the rodeos have become such an important part of the culture as well as discover all about the oil, gas and railroad industries!
Who were the early Cody families who lived in the town? The Cody Heritage Museum is great to put faces, names and stories to history and you really gain a sense of who shaped this amazing Wyoming favorite. One thing that's always popular are seeing actual photos, letters, and artifacts of those incredible pioneers and adventurers who started it all.
The displays go back right to prehistoric times, and chronologically take you through the settlement to WWI and WWII, right through to thee 1950s.
