Some museums offer some indoor exhibits to tell the story. However, sometimes you come across one that gives you 30 acres of historic buildings that tell the story of Southern Nevada - from pre-historic times to modern day!
The Clark County Museum is a very hands-on museum that allows you to explore history, not just read about it. There are 30 acres of historic buildings, as well as a modern exhibit and a timeline exhibit.
The historic buildings showcase a range of daily lives from different decades. You can explore a townhouse, or a barn. There is a wedding chapel, and even a ghost town and mining trail.
You can visit the news at a 1900s newspaper print shop, and those railroad lovers in the family can explore a 1932 Boulder City Depot, and even see a real 1918 Union Pacific steam engine!
There is a mining exhibit filled with mineral specimens, and then you can explore a ghost town!
Then, there is the exhibit hall at the Clark County Museum. It will take your family on a historical journey from the Ice Age, to the Age of Entertainment that we know and love today!
The timeline shows you the culture and history of ancient Pueblo, the first Anglo pioneers, the early town-sites and right through to the heritage and entertainment of those bright lights of Vegas!
Don't forget to explore Heritage Street, where the homes take you into the daily lives of those from the 1910s to the 1970s.
Parents - maybe this will take you down memory lane a little!
