Caterpillar Visitors Center

Peoria, IL

Where are we going?

Caterpillar Visitors Center
100 NE Adams St
IL 61629

309 675 1000

What is there to do?

Get ready for a unique experience in Illinois, because this isn't your average museum!

At the Caterpillar Visitors Center, the whole family can explore the history of the Caterpillar brand, from it's humble beginnings to present global glory, with interactive displays and exhibits.

Your self-guided experience begins with a virtual ride in the bed of a massive two-and-a-half story Cat 797F Mining Truck - how cool is that?

Kids can learn how the brand's story began as two companies came together to build a global company based on innovation. They might even be inspired to build their own company!

Those creative kids can unleash their inner engineer and design their very own Cat machine, or they can test their skills on a simulator to see first-hand what it's like to operate the equipment.

The exhibits within the visitor center also showcase the history of Caterpillar, as you can see over 100 years of history all under the one roof. Did you know that Caterpillar helped build the San Francisco Cable Car system? Did you know that Caterpillar helped widen the Panama canal?

A fun history lesson for kids!

A visit to the Caterpillar Visitors Center wouldn't be complete without climbing in a track-type tractor!

Best suited for educational value to over 5s but younger kids will enjoy looking at the impressive displays and pressing buttons.

The Caterpillar Visitors Center is ready and waiting for those curious kids to enjoy a hands-on experience in Illinois!
