It's history and locomotives all wrapped up in one at the Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum! Both located in Casey Jones Village, the family can relive the life, and the legend, of Casey Jones himself - an American railroad engineer who died in 1900, and became immortalized as an American folk hero through a number of songs!
Now, YOU can visit his former home, and a railroad museum that features a 130 ton engine that allows you to ring the bell just like Casey did!
The Railroad Museum is located next to the historic home, and features a number of exhibits dedicated to Casey's life, and that famous last ride that took his life.
Make sure you stop to watch the short film that explores Casey's life, and explore the three authentic rail cars. For those Civil War enthusiasts, the museum also features a permanent exhibit called "The Railroads & Civil War in Tennessee", as well as the Jackson Room - dedicated to the town's rich railroad history.
Make sure you take time to explore Casey Jones Village too! Kids always love the authentically recreated 1800s Ice Cream Parlor & Fudge Shop, as well as the Old Country Store, and a rare soda fountain made in the 1800s (and was one of the first 75 ever made!)
So why not step back in time and explore the life and legend of Casey Jones in Tennessee, and don't forget to ring that bell!
