If you love history, you'll be in the right place at Carlyle House Historic Park!
This stunning 18th century historic home museum is located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia, and it was back in 1753 that the home was completed.
That's a long time ago!
The historic home got it's name from John Carlyle, who was not only a wealthy merchant, but also founded the Alexandria itself - pretty impressive!
Today, families can visit the home, which is one of the nations finest examples of Georgian residential architecture.
Throughout the year, the Carlyle House Historic Park host fun events, and offer exciting exhibits that give kids a chance to explore the history even more.
They might experience Braddock's visit and the French and Indian War firsthand through costumed interpreters.
You might like to join a lecture where you can hear all about the lives and experiences of the common sailors of the 18th century. Kids might even want to get those green thumbs active with Herb & Craft sales, where you can even purchase plants and herbs from Mount Vernon's greenhouses!
So why not jump into the pages of history and visit a fascinating historic home, in one of the most history towns in the USA - and it's super pretty too!
History awaits, kids!
